Metro CERT Annual Event
Join us for a focused conversation about the rebuilding efforts across the Twin Cities in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. Attendees will hear from community members—including Ruhel Islam, owner of Gandhi Mahal restaurant, a business owner with a history of clean energy improvements—about their efforts and needs, and about the ways state and local entities can and are providing resources related to clean energy and resilience. Matt Kazinka of the Lake Street Council (LSC) will provide background and updates on grants for small business recovery and opportunities for equitable renewable energy and energy efficiency along the 2,000 business corridor. Attendees will also hear about a seed grant project’s goal to educate young women of color from North Minneapolis about reducing carbon impacts through passive design, building material selections, and renewable energy.
